Wired has an interesting article on airlines implementing new ways to board planes, based on statistical information. Having experienced the old or regular boarding pattern and some of the newer boarding systems over time, I must admit the newer systems seem to be more convenient. Smoother boarding, less fighting with people over storage space. Less tripping over people who want to be in the exact same aisle spot as me, to put away our carry on luggage.
Now if only there could be a statistical solution to the problem of me ending up within hearing range of crying babies on long flights ... that should be a good research project, right? [Source]
