Pearls before Swine explains it pretty well in today's
comic.

Google Video does have its charm in a certain way. I found a bunch of old Commodore commercials that will take you through the history of the Commodore branch of personal computers. Everything from the
Vic20, through
C64 to the
Amiga. It's neat to see Alien Breed being featured in one of the
commercials.
There are commercials for other old computers too, like
Atari.
I wonder if these were uploaded with the copyright owner's permission though.

Sure, I mentioned the 30 second bunny theater
before, but that was over a year ago. In the meantime, some new movies have appeared. Most seasonal of all,
A Christmas Story (hosted on Starz). Don't forget to check out the other movies too, including the
War of the Worlds one.

Every day I read a couple of comics. Most of them are English, but there is also one Dutch comic I read, called
Fokke and Sukke. Now the creators of this odd comic want to expand and conquer the English language market. The names have been changed to protect the innocent, and you can now find them as
Duck and Birdie. Comedy not for the faint of hearted, as shown by
one of the cartoons on the site.
I wonder if the rest of the world will ever catch on to this, but in the mean time I'll keep reading the Dutch versions. These appear every weekday, and usually address topical subjects. As such, the yearly collections containing the best comics from a year, also serve as a history guide to the most important topics of Dutch history. Well, sort of.

Some
things are better left hidden. Then again, some songs are so catchy, you just have to subject yourself to it
one more time.

If you have your own blog and you feel depressed because of it, you may benefit from reading this very interesting
pamphlet. Surely I jest? I do, but I also think it can't hurt to ask myself from time to time why I am blogging and whether or not it's still worth it. Blogging doesn't depress me though, I find it rather enjoyable. And no, this doesn't mean I am in denial.

So how often do you see a computer tell you this? Perhaps more often than you thought, when you play “
20 Questions”. The object of the game is simple: answer all questions asked by the program faithfully and the program should be able to guess what you were thinking of in 20 questions or less.
Depending on the object you are thinking of, the game is quicker or slower to get to the right answer. Of course, it also matters whether or not other people have used the same object before, since the artificial intelligence uses answers from previous games when deciding on the next question. “Love” only took 17 guesses, so I guess that's a rather common word for people to use. “Granite” took longer, but that is because I got thrown off by the questions. At the end of the game, the program tells you which discrepancies it detected between your answers and the answer it expected. In the instance of something that has a variable volume, questions like “Is it heavier than a pound of butter? ” lead to “depends” answers from me, since I feel it depends on the volume one is thinking about. The game expected a “yes” there, so I guess most previous people were thinking about a larger part of granite.

Yes, it seems that it is possible to have
fun at your (university) library. I wonder how people at our library would respond to something like
this ...

These are the words of John Cleese in his role as H. Twain Weck in a commercial for a disk-based backup company. Telling us about the risks of tape-based backup. Eh yeah, whatever. At least the
video is entertaining for a short while.

Although there are plenty of real-life comedians that can be funny, there are also dozens of people creating their own comedy, online. A lot of these are animated characters in flash files. From tiem to time I'll come across a single one that is funny. Until today, when I discovered Foamy. Well, that seems to be his name. A squirrel with a big (explicit) mouth. With very amusing rants (like the one about
fast food) and an interesting view on
tech support. Find more of them
here.
